Article 2 – Registration and acceptance

A registration becomes final only after the full amount due has been paid and the participant has received confirmation.

The participant is responsible for providing all requested information correctly and completely. TYRUN is not liable for problems resulting from incorrect, incomplete or outdated information.

The organiser may refuse or cancel a registration where:

Where the refusal or cancellation is attributable to the participant, TYRUN is not required to refund the ticket.

Article 3 – Age and minor participants

The participant must meet the minimum age applicable to the selected division or event.

Unless stricter conditions are stated:

The participant understands that TYRUN involves intensive physical effort and may include running, lifting, pushing, pulling, jumping, carrying and repeated functional exercises.

The participant is personally responsible for:

TYRUN does not perform medical examinations. Acceptance of a registration does not mean that TYRUN has declared the participant medically fit.

  • assessing their health and physical fitness;
  • undertaking sufficient preparation and training;
  • obtaining medical advice in the event of doubt, an existing medical condition, a previous injury, pregnancy, medication use or another relevant circumstance;
  • stopping immediately and requesting assistance in the event of pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, confusion or other abnormal symptoms.

Article 5 – Acknowledgement and acceptance of risks

The participant understands and accepts that participation in a sporting event involves risks.

These risks may include:

The participant takes part voluntarily and at their own responsibility and accepts the normal and reasonably foreseeable risks inherent in the activity.

This acceptance of risk does not release TYRUN from liability for damage for which liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

  • muscle, tendon, joint or bone injuries;
  • falls, collisions and contact with other participants;
  • exhaustion, dehydration, overheating or hypothermia;
  • fainting, breathing difficulties or acute medical problems;

  • serious injury, permanent disability, cardiac arrest or death.

Article 6 – Insurance and personal coverage

The organiser maintains the insurance legally required or reasonably considered appropriate for the organisation of the event.

Such insurance does not necessarily constitute personal accident, hospitalisation, travel or liability insurance for each participant.

The participant is responsible for ensuring that they have sufficient insurance for matters including personal accidents, medical expenses, incapacity for work, third-party liability, travel and cancellation.

Article 7 – Competition rules and instructions

The participant undertakes to:

The organiser may issue a warning, time penalty or other sanction, invalidate a result or immediately exclude a participant where the participant:

The participant must immediately comply with every decision made by the medical or safety team.

  • is dangerous for others;
  • is medically irresponsible;
  • disrupts the safe organisation of the event.

Article 9 – Changes to the event

Article 10 – Tickets, right of withdrawal and refunds

Tickets for an event taking place on a specific date or during a specific period are final, unless otherwise expressly required by law or these Terms and Conditions.

The statutory fourteen-day right of withdrawal may not apply to such leisure services. A participant may therefore not cancel a ticket solely because they have changed their mind or can no longer participate.

Non-participation due to illness, injury, pregnancy, work, transport, holidays, a missed start, insufficient preparation or personal circumstances does not entitle the participant to a refund.

Administration fees, transaction fees, insurance fees, donations, personalised items and additional products are non-refundable unless mandatory law provides otherwise.

Article 11 – Transfer and modification of a registration

A ticket is personal and may not be resold, copied or commercially offered without TYRUN’s permission.

Where TYRUN offers an official transfer or modification procedure, a participant may request, within the stated deadline:

A modification is valid only after confirmation by TYRUN or the ticketing provider. Administration fees or price differences may apply.

TYRUN may refuse a modification where the requested category is full, the deadline has expired, safety may be compromised or the participation requirements have not been met.

  • transfer of the ticket to another person;
  • replacement of a team member or duo partner;
  • a change of division, wave or category.

Article 12 – Postponement, relocation and force majeure

Force majeure includes circumstances reasonably outside TYRUN’s control, including:

In the event of postponement or relocation, the ticket will in principle remain valid for the new date or venue.

Where reasonably possible, TYRUN may offer an alternative such as:

A refund is not automatically guaranteed in the event of postponement, relocation or force majeure and will depend on the circumstances, costs already incurred, applicable law and the solution offered by TYRUN.

  • extreme weather conditions;
  • natural disasters;
  • epidemics or pandemics;
  • war, terrorism, riots or serious security threats;
  • government measures;
  • strikes;
  • failure of utilities or infrastructure;
  • fire, flooding or damage to the venue;
  • unavailability of essential suppliers, emergency services or permits;
  • other unforeseen circumstances that make safe or reasonable organisation impossible.
  • participation on the new date;
  • a credit or voucher;
  • transfer to another TYRUN event;
  • another appropriate solution.

Article 13 – Complete cancellation by TYRUN

Where TYRUN completely cancels the event and does not offer a replacement date, voucher or equivalent alternative, the ticket price will in principle be refunded.

TYRUN may exclude reasonable costs, services already supplied or legally non-refundable charges from the refund, provided that this is legally permitted and was communicated sufficiently clearly in advance.

TYRUN is not liable for additional participant expenses such as travel, accommodation, meals, training, equipment, leave from work or other indirect expenditure.

Article 14 – TYRUN’s liability

TYRUN seeks to organise the event carefully, professionally and safely.

To the extent permitted by law, TYRUN is not liable for damage arising from:

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability for:

Where TYRUN is liable, compensation will, to the extent permitted by law, be limited to directly proven and reasonably foreseeable damage.

  • the participant’s own medical or physical condition;

  • failure to follow instructions or competition rules;
  • normal risks inherent in the sport;

  • any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under mandatory law.

Article 15 – Personal belongings

The participant remains responsible for clothing, telephones, sports watches, jewellery, bags, vehicles and other personal belongings.

Changing rooms, lockers, storage areas or bicycle parking facilities are provided as a service unless expressly stated otherwise. TYRUN does not guarantee that these are permanently supervised or completely secure.

Participants are advised not to bring valuable items.

Article 16 – Equipment and venue

The participant must use equipment, devices, buildings and grounds carefully and in accordance with the instructions provided.

Damage caused intentionally or through clearly improper or reckless use may be recovered from the participant.

Participants may not enter restricted areas, technical areas, competition zones or premises for which they do not have permission.

Article 17 – Timing, results and qualification

TYRUN will make reasonable efforts to register timings, scores, rankings and results correctly.

Technical errors, human errors, missing registrations or system failures may nevertheless occur.

Provisional results may be amended after review. The decision of the competition management regarding time penalties, no-reps, disqualifications, rankings and qualification is final, except in the event of a clear clerical or material error.

Any challenge must be submitted within the time limit and in accordance with the procedure communicated by TYRUN.

TYRUN does not guarantee that participation automatically creates an entitlement to a ranking, qualification, prize, starting place at a future event or other recognition.

Article 18 – Prizes and commercial benefits

Prizes, podium positions, vouchers and partner products may be subject to additional conditions, identity verification, age requirements or tax obligations.

Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash unless expressly stated otherwise.

In the event of fraud, disqualification or an incorrect result, TYRUN may withdraw or recover a prize.

Article 19 – Photographs, video and audio recordings

Photographs, videos, livestreams and audio recordings may be made during the event by TYRUN, its partners, media partners or appointed photographers.

General atmosphere images, crowd images and images in which the participant is or is not the principal or specifically targeted subject may be used for:

Participants may submit a reasoned objection concerning a specific use to support@tyrun.com. TYRUN will assess the request taking into account image rights, data protection, materials already produced and applicable legal exceptions.

Images may not be used in an insulting, misleading or unlawful manner.

  • reporting on the event;
  • communication through the website and social media;
  • promotion of TYRUN and future events;
  • editorial, archive and sponsor communications.

Article 20 – Personal data

Personal data is processed in accordance with TYRUN’s Privacy Policy.

Data may be processed for matters including:

The participant should consult the Privacy Policy for further information regarding retention periods, recipients, international transfers and data protection rights.

  • registration and ticket management;
  • event communications;
  • safety and medical incident records;
  • timing, rankings and results;
  • customer service;
  • invoicing and legal administration;
  • fraud prevention;
  • photograph and video management;
  • marketing where a valid legal basis exists.

Article 21 – Sponsors, partners and external services

The event may be supported by sponsors and partners. Third-party products, services or promotions may be subject to separate terms.

TYRUN is not responsible for agreements entered into directly between the participant and an external partner, ticketing provider, payment provider, transport provider, accommodation provider or other third party.

Article 22 – Complaints

Complaints concerning registration, organisation or participation must be submitted in writing as soon as possible and no later than fourteen calendar days after the event via support@tyrun.com.

The complaint must contain sufficient information to allow it to be investigated, including the participant’s name, the event, the ticket or order number and a clear description.

This time limit does not affect statutory rights or limitation periods that may not lawfully be restricted by contract.

Article 23 – Applicable law and competent courts

These Terms and Conditions and the agreement with TYRUN are governed by Belgian law.

Disputes fall within the jurisdiction of the courts that are competent under the applicable legal rules.

Where the participant is a consumer, these Terms and Conditions do not affect mandatory consumer protection or the right to bring proceedings before a court that has jurisdiction under applicable consumer law.

Article 24 – Severability and amendments

Where any provision is declared wholly or partly invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in force.

To the extent possible, the invalid provision will be replaced by a valid provision that most closely reflects its original purpose.

TYRUN may amend these Terms and Conditions for future registrations. The version applicable at the time of purchase will continue to govern the relevant registration, unless an amendment is legally required or more favourable to the participant.
